It's been announced: Barack Obama will be the 44th President of the United States.
I'm watching Obama's first address to the nation after the news broke and I felt suddenly inspired to write a little blurb. It may not seem relevant to culturecancure, but the connection is this: change is real. Even the most stubborn of people can open their eyes to something new. If that's not inspiration for us as members of a charity, I don't really know what is.
Either way, I'm feeling exceptionally inspired at the moment and just want to take this opportunity to say [repeatedly] that change is possible. We — as members of culturecancure, as members of a post-race, post-gender generation, as people that conceive of alternative models by which the world should run — can inspire people to live their lives differently.
The three of us leading this charity decided on 'proactive living' as the major initiative of our efforts. The concept of proactive living seems to have taken on a new meaning in the context of tonight's news. Proactive living extends beyond debunking the pharmaceutical industry's current framework by living and eating right.
We truly hope that anyone we manage to impact in terms of health and better living will take their new, radical spin on health care that we advocate and apply it to all dimensions of their lives.
At the same time, we feel that people need to take the deeper meaning of this election and apply it, in the very same manner, to all facets of their lives. Especially the American people, whom will fail to see the electoral promises made to them come to fruition if they do not deliver their part in the trek to rebuild the US.
I [really] apologize [a ton] if I'm being grossly idealist and a bit hokey, but I'm just EXTREMELY excited for the future right now and I feel like this is the definite right time to be open to idealism.
